I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer
when I was in Japan. I left for the Philippines to prepare for an
operation.
On October 4, I went under the knife and
had the lumps removed. I underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
But two months after my operation, I had nausea and dizziness. The
doctors found out that the cancer cells went up to my brain and I was
diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.
I really felt terrible. I was dizzy all the
time and could not walk on my own. I had to stay in a wheel chair and be
hospitalized. The medicines I took caused my body to swell. I started to
loose courage in facing another bout with cancer when my cousin visited
me with Pastor Nick Dionisio of JIL Malolos Chapter.
Pastor Nick shared to me God's salvation
through the Lord Jesus Christ. Being a former Catholic, I had never
believed that miracles do happen especially not on me. But after I
received the Lord Jesus in my heart and Pastor Nick had prayed over me,
I became a brand new person, filled with renewed hope and strength. I
instantly felt the touch of God as I grow deeper in faith and
relationship with the Lord. I began to consistently attend the JIL
Church services although I could barely walk. Soon I was able to attend
Church without being assisted.
Through the months, I continually claimed
Matthew 7:7 that says, "Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall
find; knock and the door shall be opened to you." I knew God has
answered my prayer because He will never frustrate the request of His
people.
Eventually, in October 2004, I was
miraculously cleared of cancer, both in my breast and brain. The doctors
were very happy and amazed about my quick recovery from the disease. But
I know it was god who had healed me and delivered me from death. Truly,
nothing is impossible to Him!
I have already regained my strength and now
serving God in JIL-Malolos Chapter. Praise Him who answers the prayers
of His people!

I liked reading this short
article from a friend. I hope you will, too. The first day of school our
professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know
someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a
gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up
at me with a smile that lit up her entire being.
She said, "Hi handsome. My
name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?"
I laughed and
enthusiastically responded, "Of course you may!" and she gave me
a giant squeeze.
"Why are
you in college at such a young, innocent age?" I asked. She
jokingly replied, "I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married,
and have a couple of kids..." "No
seriously," I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her
to be taking on this challenge at her age. "I
always dreamed of having a college education! and now I'm
getting one!" she told me.
After
class we walked to the student union building and shared a
chocolate milkshake. We
became instant friends every day for the next three months we
would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always
mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her
wisdom and experience with me. Over the
course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily
made friends wherever she went. She
loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon
her from the other students. She was living it up.
At the
end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football
banquet. I'll
never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped
up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech,
she dropped her three by five cards on the floor.
Frustrated and
a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply
said, "I'm sorry I'm so jittery! I'll never get my speech back in
order so let me just tell you what I know." As we
laughed she cleared her throat and began, "We do not stop
playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing.
There are only four secrets to
staying young... being
happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor
every day. You've got to have a dream.
When you lose
your dreams, you die.
We have so many
people walking around who are dead and don't even know it!
There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up.
If you
are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and
don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old.
If I am eighty-seven years old
and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn
eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any
talent or ability.
The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change.
Have no regrets.
The elderly usually don't have
regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do.
The only people who fear death are those with regrets."
She concluded
her speech by courageously singing "The Rose."
She
challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in
our daily lives. At the
year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all
those years ago.
One week
after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. Over two
thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the
wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late
to be all you can possibly be. When you
finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to
your friends and family, they'll really enjoy it!
These
words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.
REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS
MANDATORY.
GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.
We make a Living by what we get,
We make a Life by what we
give.
God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.
He will bring you through it.
"Good
friends are like stars.........You don't always see them,
but you know they are always
there."

A
group of students were asked to list what they thought were the
present
"Seven
Wonders of the World."
Though there were some disagreements, the following received the
most votes:
1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall
While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student
had not finished her paper yet.
So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.
The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my
mind because there were so many."
The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we
can help."
The girl hesitated, then read: "I think the 'Seven Wonders of
the World' are:
1. To See...
2. To Hear...
3. To Touch...
5. To Feel...
6. To Laugh...
7. And to Love."
The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.
The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take
for granted are truly wondrous!
A
gentle reminder: The most precious things in life cannot be
built by hand or bought by man.
The Greatest Wonder Of All…................Is
God’s amazing Love for mankind in sending His Only Son Jesus to
set us free and give us everlasting life.
You can ask Him into your life by praying the following:
“Dear Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God and my Savior.
I need Your love to cleanse me from my mistakes and wrongdoings.
I need your light to drive away all darkness. I need your peace
to fill and satisfy my heart. I now open the door of my heart
and ask You to please come into my life and give me your gift of
eternal life. Amen.”

Inquirer
LIPA CITY--FILIPINOS
have another victory to be proud of in the international
arena.
Three high school students from Batangas put the
Philippines on top of the world.
The robotics team of the
First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities
(Faith), a small educational institution in Tanauan
City, won the
2006 World Robot Olympiad
held in Nanning, China
over the weekend.
The team, composed of a senior and two freshmen high
school students, bested 30 other entries from 20
countries--including highly regarded participants from
Japan, South Korea, Russia and Singapore.
“This is like a dream. We really didn’t expect to win.
It’s unbelievable,” Merlina Placino, coach of the
robotics team, told the Inquirer over the phone on
Sunday.
“We are very happy. All our hard work and sacrifices
paid off,” said team leader Kim Marco Perez, 14.
Placino, Perez and teammates Dan Joseph Garcia, 13, and
Francisco Gabriel Nunez, 13, were still waiting for
their flight at the Nanning airport when they spoke with
the Inquirer.
They were expected to return to the country before
midnight Sunday.
“We are excited to come home,” said Garcia.
The team from Faith was one of six local entries to the
robotics tournament.
The entry of the Grace Christian School won one of the
seven special awards. They were conferred with the “Best
Team Spirit” award.
Placino said their team topped the open category
(secondary school level) of the annual competition of
young robot inventors from all over the world.
They received a trophy and gold medals from the event
organizers.
In 2004, the school, which had dominated the local
robotics tournament for five years in a row, placed
fourth in the event held in Singapore.
This year’s competition had humanoids, or robots which
display human-like characteristics and behavior, as its
main theme.
Placino said the entries were judged on their
creativity, originality and relevance to the theme.
“Winning the Olympiad is more than what we expected.
When we went here, we thought winning a special award
was more than enough,” she said. “This is just too
much.”
When asked what could have won them the top award, she
humbly said: “Maybe it was our unique design and
presentation. Others didn’t have a concept.”
While others made big robots which can lift things, some
measuring up to one and a half meters tall, the team
from Faith designed a scene inside a café.
Inside the 2.25-meter café are 11 humanoid robots which
include a waiter, a receptionist, a coffee mixer, a
customer, bar attendant and security guards.
It also had a three-piece robot band--composed of a
pianist, a guitarist and a drummer.
“What’s more important is that we showed robots serving
and drinking kapeng barako because we wanted to show the
culture of Batangas,” Placino said.
Placino only had praises for her over-achieving wards.
She said the team overcame lack of support from the
government and a relatively little experience in
building robots.
“They just showed what the Filipinos can do,” she said.
She said the three-day event had already taken its toll
on the young winners.
Because of the weather and physical and mental stress,
the three kids were taken ill, she said.
“Aside from the stress brought by the competition, the
kids had to lift our heavy cargoes,” Placino added.
But more than the pride that their win brought the
country, Placino said their triumph could serve as a
catalyst and a wake-up call for the government to take a
more serious look into the promotion of robotics and
information technology among the grade and high school
students.
“Our win also proved that even schools in the provinces
can win in events like this and offer better education
than some Manila schools. We’re really not behind in
terms of (quality education),” she said.

A sobbing little girl stood near a
small church from which she had
been turned away because it was "too crowded."
"I can't go to Sunday School," she sobbed to the pastor as he
walked by.
Seeing her shabby, unkempt appearance, the pastor guessed the
reason and, taking her by the hand, took her inside and found a
place for her in the Sunday school class. The child was so happy
that they found room for her, and she went to bed that night
thinking of the children who have no place to worship Jesus.
Some two years later, this child lay dead in one of the poor
tenement buildings. Her parents called for the kindhearted
pastor who had befriended their daughter to handle the final
arrangements.
As her poor little body was being moved, a worn and crumpled red
purse was found which seemed to have been rummaged from some
trash dump.
Inside was found
57 cents
and a note, scribbled in childish handwriting, which read:
"This is to help build the little church bigger so more children
can go to Sunday School."
For two years she had saved for this offering of love.
When the pastor tearfully read that note, he knew instantly what
he would do. Carrying this note and the cracked, red pocketbook
to the pulpit, he told the story of her unselfish love and
devotion.
He challenged his deacons to get busy and raise enough money for
the larger building.
But the story does not end there...
A newspaper learned of the story and published it. It was read
by a wealthy realtor who offered them a parcel of land worth
many thousands.
When told that the church could not pay so much, he offered to
sell it to the little church for
57 cents.
Church members made large donations. Checks came from far and
wide.
Within five years the little girl's gift had increased to
$250,000.00--a huge sum for that time (near the turn of the
century). Her unselfish love had paid large dividends.
When you are! in the city of Philadelphia, look up Temple
Baptist Church, with a seating capacity of 3,300. And be sure to
visit Temple University, where thousands of students are
educated.
Have a look, too, at the Good Samaritan Hospital and at a Sunday
School building which houses hundreds of beautiful children,
built so that no child in the area will ever need to be left
outside during Sunday School time.
In one of the rooms of this building may be seen the picture of
the sweet face of the little girl whose
57 cents,
so sacrificially saved, made such remarkable history. Alongside
of it is a portrait of her kind pastor, Dr. Russel H. Conwell,
author of the book, "Acres of Diamonds"
This is a true story, which goes to show WHAT GOD CAN DO WITH 57
CENTS.

This is a
good story and is true, please read it all the way through until
the end!
(After the story, there are some very interesting facts!):
I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and have recently
completed my college degree.
The last class I had to take was Sociology. The teacher was
absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human
being had been graced with.
Her last project of the term was called "Smile." The class was
asked to go out and smile at three people and document their
reactions.
I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say
hello anyway , so,
I thought this would be a piece of cake, literally. Soon after
we were assigned the project, my husband, youngest son, and I
went out to McDonald's one crisp March
morning. It was just our way of sharing special playtime with
our son.
We were standing in line, waiting to be served, when all of a
sudden everyone around
us began to back away, and then even my husband did.
I did not move an inch... an overwhelming feeling of panic
welled up inside of me as
I turned to see why they had moved.
As I turned around I smelled a horrible "dirty body" smell, and
there standing behind
me were two poor homeless men. As I looked down at the short
gentleman, close to
me, he was "smiling". His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of
God's Light as he searched for acceptance.
He said, "Good day" as he counted the few coins he had been
clutching.
The second man fumbled with his hands as he stood behind his
friend. I realized the second man was mentally challenged and
the blue-eyed gentleman was his salvation.
I held my tears as I stood there with them.
The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted.
He said, "Coffee is all Miss" because that was all they could
afford. (If they wanted to sit in the restaurant and warm up,
they had to buy something). He just wanted to be warm.
Then I really felt it - the compulsion was so great I almost
reached out and embraced the little man with the blue eyes.
That is when I noticed all eyes in the restaurant were set on
me, judging my every action. I smiled and asked the young lady
behind the counter to give me two more breakfast meals on a
separate tray.
I then walked around t he corner to the table that the men had
chosen as a resting spot. I put the tray on the table and laid
my hand on the blue-eyed gentleman's cold hand. He looked up at
me, with tears in his eyes, and said, "Thank you."
I leaned over, began to pat his hand and said, "I did not do
this for you. God is here working through me to give you hope."
I started to cry as I walked away to join my husband and son.
When I sat down my husband smiled at me and said, "That is why
God gave you to me, Honey, to give me hope."
We held hands for a moment and at that time, we knew that only
because of the Grace that we had been given were we able to
give. We are not church goers, but we are believers.
That day showed me the pure Light of God's sweet love. I
returned to college, on the last evening of class, with this
story in hand. I turned in "my project" and the instructor read
it.
Then she looked up at me and said, "Can I share this?" I slowly
nodded as she got the attention of the class.
She began to read and that is when I knew that we as human
beings and being part of God share this need to heal people and
to be healed.
In my own way I had touched the people at McDonald's, my
husband, son, instructor, and every soul that shared the
classroom on the last night I spent as a college student. I
graduated with one of the biggest lessons I would ever learn:
UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE.
Much love and compassion is sent to each and every person who
may read this and learn how to LOVE PEOPLE AND USE THINGS - NOT
LOVE THINGS AND USE PEOPLE.

I dreamed I
had an interview with God.
“So you would like to interview me?” God asked
“If you have the time” I said.
God smiled
“My time is eternity”
“What questions do you have in mind for me?”
“What surprises you most about humankind?...”
God answered...
“That they get bored with childhood.
They rush to grow up and then
long to be children again.”
“That they lose their health to make money
and then lose their money to restore their health.”
“That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future.”
That they live as if they will never die,
and die as if they had never lived.”
God’s hand took mine
and we were silent for awhile
And then I asked...
“As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons
you want your children to learn?”
God replied with a smile
“To learn they cannot make anyone love them.
What they can do is let themselves be loved.”
“To learn that it is not good
to compare themselves to others.”
“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least.”
“To learn that it only takes a few seconds
to open profound wounds in persons we love,
and it takes many years to heal them.”
“To learn to forgive by
practicing forgiveness.”
“To learn that there are persons who love them dearly,
but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.”
“To learn that two people can look at the same thing
and see it
differently.”
“To learn that it is not always enough that they
be forgiven by others. But that they must
forgive themselves.”
“And to learn that I am here always.”

A man entered into a restaurant for
refreshment and quickly a standby waiter approached him and
guided him to make himself comfortable. The man ordered a
refreshing drink only. The waiter was disappointed as he has
expected more order from the man. The more the customers
have ordered, right often the more the tip would be. So the
waiter served the man lower than an ordinary customer should
be served.
The man finished his drinks and left a 100 dollar buck tip
on the table for the waiter who served him. When the waiter
saw the tip after the man was gone out of the restaurant, he
felt guilty for he knew that he has not served him really
well. End of the story.
We often hear that “worship” is a lifestyle, I absolutely
agree. So many preachers nowadays keep on mentioning this in
their sermons and preachings, but also missed the point that
worship is simply defined as our service to our God. Worship
is a heavenly word which when we interpret into a simple
human language, it means “service”. Worshipping God
basically means, serving God. Then a worshipper is simply a
service crew if we put it in a more simple definition that
all of us could understand. Whatever it is that we do, if we
do it in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, then it’s simply
an act of worship or should we say an act of our service to
God.
Now, let me put it this way.
Consider the story as an illustration of a simple service.
The waiter is us (worshippers), and the man who entered the
restaurant is God. Would you be able to say that you’ve
served Him well? Or, are you worshipping Him in the right
way as He really deserve? God still bless us in all aspect
of our lives despite that we often fail in giving Him the
best service He deserve. Just as the man left a 100 dollar
buck on the table for the waiter so as God always gives us
new blessings each and every morning.
Do not serve God the way the waiter served the man at the
restaurant. Serve Him with all of your might, heart and
soul. The waiter waits for the opportunity to render his
service but we, Christians, sons of God always does have the
opportunity to serve our true living God the Father. Don’t
wait for the opportunity to serve God for it has been given
unto us ever since the day He called us.

One day a grocery store which was owned by a young man, was
running low of revolving funds. The store will only sustain
its operation for a couple of months, so the owner called
for a meeting for all the staff. He stood up in front of
approximately 50 workers of the grocery store and said, “I
am so sorry to announce that the store is running low of its
revolving fund which is leading to bankruptcy , so we have
to dispose everything as fast as possible to our consumers
by having a super sale. “ All the staff got worried and felt
sorry from what they heard, but then the owner said, “Since
you are the ones who are working here, you may be the first
ones to grab anything you need for a penny, we are having a
super sale! Pay a penny and take all” the staff’s worries
were replaced with joy for a moment, ‘til they focused their
attention to the young man who owned the store and asked,
“What are you going to do after all of these?” “I will go
back to my father and manage his huge firm, so don’t worry
about me” replied the young owner as he tap the shoulder of
the person close to him, then smiled to all of them. After that the chosen staff got all what they needed for,
the owner instructed them to put a sign outside so people
could see the sale going on inside.
The workers then posted a sign outside the windows which
says “Super Sale! Pay a penny and take all you can! It’s a
gift for limited time only” People who were passing by
seemed to have a hard time believing what’s on the sign. “A
penny for whatever I may take?” asked one of the people who
were just curious. Though the store were wide opened
declaring a super sale bonanza, still people who were
shopping can be easily counted. Only a few handfuls of
people believed the sale. The owner was a little bit
disappointed, for it’s not what he expected. A huge amount
of crowd could have consumed al the goods within few days
only. In short, the owner decided to put a commercial on TV
to speed up the sale, but still the same thing happened.
People still don’t believe that they can have so many goods
for a penny. A month passed by and most of the goods were
spoiled, no one would be able to consume the goods due to
its expiration date and it's even worst in the meat, fish
and vegetable section. Only few people took benefits of the
“super sale”, for some reason that it’s just too good to be
true.
End of the story.
What if salvation is the “super sale” which is only
available for a limited time? The son, our Lord Jesus Christ
made it all so easy for us, yet many of us tend to find it
hard to believe for salvation. The “staff” was the chosen
people (the Israelites), and the consumers from outside is
(the gentiles), us. His arms are wide open but still we find
it hard to approach our God and receive the best offer He
ever made for us.
The penny symbolizes our willingness to accept the sale
which is the salvation. We only need to come forward to our
God by free will and everything such as “take all you can”
will follow. Now, that the Son has returned to His Father,
still the offer is available with no conditions at all, it’s
all for us to receive and inherit the eternal life.

Once there was
a church which needed a revival. Church members and leaders just
come and go to the church service as if they were just trying to
get the job done and get over it as quick as they can. Everybody
in the church were so low esteemed. The joy is not visible
whichever mnistry you may observe, so in short, the church
needed revival. It is definitely true that our God moves in
myterious ways. Some of the members thought God might send a
really good preacher to the church for revival and some said, "
oh, we need a great worship team" and others said "no, what we
need is fundings" and so on and so on..
One sunday, a new comer attended. He accepeted Jesus Christ as
his Lord and Savior and his life was changed instantly. He
became a totally different person compared before he accepted
the Lord. He then discovered his ministry, which is encouraging
people. Every single time he sees anybody who's doing a job in a
ministry, he always gave them a gentle tap on the shoulder and
says "good job, good work, God bless you my brother" and since
then, he felt really good and found great pleasure in doing
this. Days passed by, months, then into years. The church was
changed into a joyful congregation. The spirit of joy took over
into everyone’s heart. The members were not low esteemed anymore
as well the leaders, especially the pastor. Revival took placed
thru a man whose ministry is tapping and encouraging others in
the church. Miracle!! Isn't it? Yes indeed.
For that, the man was called "the tapping machine" as his
nickname. He never ceased encouraging and giving a gentle tap on
somebody's shoulder to keep them doing their ministry, and it
just made him feel really good. Every time he just have great
joy encouraging and tapping somebody's shoulder, until one day.
The man didn't show up for a Sunday service, and it turn into
two Sunday service, and then months. Everyone just missed him so
much. The leaders decided to make a visitation and see if the
man is doing alright. When they arrived to the man's house, they
found out a sad sight. The man was in very low esteem, problems
and worries overwhelmed him. He was sitting on the rocking chair
and crying and crying and crying. The leaders of the church
waited ‘til he stop crying and when they notice the last drop of
tears, they slowly ask him with low gentle voice" How are you
doing brother? We missed your tap on our shoulders. We missed
our tapping machine, we've missed you" said the leaders with a
smile of sympathy on their faces.
The man slowly raised his head up and opened his mouth and said,
"It's very strange, why can't I tap and encourage myself during
times like this? It makes me feel good every time I tap
somebody's shoulder, but why doesn't it feel the same with
myself?" Right after he said these words silence overtook the
living room and in each every one of them, the leaders who are
visiting him just looked at each other speechlessly, then in one
spirit they all gave a group hug to the man and pray.
I hope you all like the story. Everyone needs a support,
encouragement, and a gentle tap on our shoulders could mean a
big thing and make somebody accomplish much. Nobody is a
"superman" in the church. A simple compliment to a well done
task really means a lot to a minister. The church is the body of
Christ, He is the head and we are all parts of the body. We must
learn to support each other at all times. Never leave anyone
empty of joy. Always take them to the presence of God, for in
His presence, there is joy.

There was a marathon
held in place of dry land, where sun rays were extremely hot,
together with the hostile environment where there’s no so many
people living around, it made even harder and more difficult to
survive the race.
Many ran from the starting point but also many have quitted in
the middle of it. There was a man who ran last. He seemed to be
very weak and it looked like he won’t be able to finish the
marathon. He lasted 22 hours running while the first victor
runner made a time of 3 hours only. The committee talked about
him and was about to close and end the event. Just minutes
before packing up everything, somebody reminded them that it’s
against the rules to stop the event if there is still a
participant running towards the finish line, and that was the
man we are talking about. The committee didn’t know what to do,
whether they have to stop the race and call it a day, “but it’s
against the rules if we pack up now” they said. So they decided
to call to the marathon organizer. They asked him what to do and
the organizer simply told them to stay and wait for the last man
to finish the race.
One man inside the committee got this crazy idea,” what if we
send some people to discourage and distract the man so he will
stop running to finish line so we can all go home” he said.
“That’s a good idea” said another member of the committee. So
went off the people they sent thru helicopter and dropped them
nearby where the last man is still running. These people started
doing what they’re supposed to do, they discourage the man while
he was running. “You will never make to the finish line why
bother running” said the first man among the people being sent.
“You will die in the middle of the race, just look at the road
you’re about to take, it’s so full of danger” said the other.
They yell, scream and say out loud and negative things to the
man, but the man continue running even in an easy slow pace.
Then the people who were sent by the committee just quit bugging
around him and said, “he is a stubborn man, he’ll make it to the
finish line”, then they return to the helicopter. The committee
was disappointed and they got no other choice but wait.
The man slowly gained the sympathy from the people watching the
race knowing that he’s so determined to finish the race. People
who were not even participants of the race joined him as he
stride towards the finish line. The man’s popularity increased
and he even got the media’s attention. A helicopter above making
a video coverage was with him along the remaining of the race.
People across the country watched him on TV as he fell to the
ground due to exhaustion, people cheered for him to get up and
continue running. He suffered physically as well as mentally but
it’s nothing for him compared to his goal which is to finish the
race. Hours and hours went by when suddenly they heard a voice,
shouting, “I can see him! He’s almost here now! Please somebody
alert the medics, water and first aid!” They all panic as if
they are about to receive and welcome somebody who’s famous and
popular. “Finally he made it” said all the people and the
committee with joy.
While the man was being taken care of by the medics, he was
interviewed by the media. “What made you so determined to finish
the race” ask the media people. The man replied with a gentle
and low voice, “If I stopped in the middle of the race, then
what I started will end up for nothing”. “But you didn’t win the
prize” said the other media people. “Yes, I did not, but the
feeling I have right now, finishing the race is more worthy
compared to any material things or the prize itself.” It is
true, that I suffered, experienced difficulties, hardships and
obstacles along the way but look at me now. The doctors are
treating me as if they have a VIP patient, the people are
cheering for me, the media’s attention is all on me and I have
the most wonderful feeling knowing that I made it through to one
of the most difficult and long endurance marathon in the world.”
said the man.
Our lives as Christians are more comparable to a marathon. Never
quit running even though you heard negative words of
discouragement from other people, continue reaching your goal
despite of the hardships, difficulties and obstacles you meet
along the way.
This is only a story but our lives as Christians are for real.
You can squeeze so many lessons from this story.

One day, a man and
his son was just chilling out in their living room, just like
any other ordinary weekend for the family. The boy approached
his father and asked, "Dad can you give me a dollar" said the
boy. "For what?" asked the dad. "I would like to buy something
from the kiosk" said the boy.
The man handed the boy a dollar and the boy went off to the
kiosk. When the boy came back, the man noticed that he's got
nothing with him but a big smile on his face and he was singing
with joy. The man asked his son. "I thought you're gonna buy
something from the kiosk" No, not anymore" said the boy. "And
why is that?" asked the man. "I met a poor man on the street on
my way to the kiosk, so I gave him my dollar, I saw that he
needs it more than I do" said the boy with a huge smile on his
face. Hearing this from his son, the man wondered and tested his
son. "Now that you've given your dollar to the poor man, you
don't have any money left for yourself anymore" said the man but
the boy said to his dad, "Don't you worry dad it will come back
to me twice the amount"
"Who told you that? Nobody is gonna give you two dollar because
you give some to the poor. "Just wait dad and be patient" said
the boy as he smiled to his dad. The father grabbed his
newspapers and continue reading it while the boy is whistling
with excitement while playing with his toys. Hours passed by and
the dad looked at his son thinking, "poor little boy hoping that
somebody can give him back the money" then he simply just
couldn't take it anymore and he said to his son, "Here's your
two dollar son before you ask anybody for money". The boy jumped
with joy and smiled, smile turned giggling and then into
laughter, and gave his dad a hug. "See, I told you I'm going to
get it back doubled the amount" said the boy.
The man smiled as the boy hugged him.
I hope you do get the message and got inspired from this. God
bless you!
